Us Against the World

An “us against the world” relationship is one in which the partners feel united and connected in facing the challenges and obstacles that life throws at them. They see themselves as a team, facing the world together and supporting each other no matter what. This type of relationship often brings the partners closer together and strengthens their bond, as they rely on each other for comfort, guidance, and encouragement. It can create a sense of shared purpose and loyalty, as they navigate the ups and downs of life together.

9/11 CONSPIRACY THEORIES

1. Controlled demolition: Some conspiracy theorists believe that the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 was not caused by the impact of the airplanes, but rather by a controlled demolition. They claim that explosives must have been planted in the buildings beforehand in order to bring them down. 2. Insider trading: Another theory suggests that individuals with prior knowledge of the attacks profited from insider trading on airline and insurance company stocks. Some believe that high-level officials within the government or financial sector were involved in this scheme. 3. Foreign involvement: There are theories that suggest foreign governments or organizations were involved in planning and executing the attacks on the World Trade Center. Some believe that the attacks were orchestrated by the government of Saudi Arabia, Israel, or another foreign entity in order to justify military intervention in the Middle East. 4. Government involvement: Perhaps the most pervasive conspiracy theory surrounding the World Trade Center attacks is that the U.S. government had prior knowledge of the attacks and allowed them to happen in order to justify military action in the Middle East. Some even go so far as to claim that the government itself orchestrated the attacks as a false flag operation. 5. Cover-up: Some conspiracy theorists believe that the government has been involved in a cover-up of the true events surrounding the attacks on the World Trade Center. They claim that key evidence has been suppressed or destroyed in order to protect those responsible for the attacks.

ONLY THE LITTLE PEOPLE PAY TAXES

This quote is often attributed to Leona Helmsley, a wealthy American businesswoman and real estate investor. It reflects her attitude towards taxes and the belief that only those with less wealth are burdened with paying taxes. Helmsley became known as the “Queen of Mean” due to her ruthless business tactics and extravagant lifestyle. In 1989, she was convicted of federal income tax evasion and other crimes related to her financial dealings. This quote has come to symbolize the idea of wealthy individuals thinking they are above paying their fair share of taxes.

This statement implies that only those who are not wealthy or powerful are required to pay taxes. This is not accurate as taxes are a way for governments to generate revenue and fund public services, and individuals at all income levels are expected to contribute based on their earnings. It is important for everyone to pay their fair share in taxes to support the needs of society as a whole.

One day, Jesus was walking through the town when he saw a tax collector named Matthew sitting at his booth. Tax collectors were often despised by the people because they were seen as traitors who worked for the Roman government and often cheated people out of their money. But Jesus saw something different in Matthew. He saw a man who was searching for something more in life, a man who was ready to change his ways and follow a new path. So Jesus walked up to Matthew and said, “Follow me.” Matthew was surprised by Jesus’ words but felt a deep sense of peace and acceptance in his presence. Without hesitation, Matthew got up from his booth and followed Jesus, leaving behind his life as a tax collector. As they walked together, Jesus and Matthew shared meals with sinners and outcasts, spreading the message of love and forgiveness. The religious leaders were scandalized by Jesus’ association with tax collectors and sinners, but Jesus knew that everyone deserved a second chance. Through his friendship with Jesus, Matthew experienced a transformation in his heart. He realized that true fulfillment comes from serving others and living a life of humility and compassion. And in the end, Matthew became one of Jesus’ most devoted followers, spreading the message of salvation to all who would listen. The story of Jesus and the tax collector reminds us that no one is beyond redemption. With a willing heart and open mind, we can all find our way back to God’s love and grace.
